Dream Ministries aims to provide medical care to the people of the Dominican Republic who would otherwise not receive it. The team has been traveling and in relationship for over 20 years with the local Evangelical church and Ministry of Public Health. Since 1998, our group of up to 40 individuals has traveled to the Dominican for just over one week. In this week we provide over 60-100 surgeries, see close to 700-800 patients in clinic and deliver thousands of prescriptions. Although we go with the intent to serve others, we always leave feeling that we have received more than we have given. We consider it a privilege and an honor to be with these people.

Beginning as a Western North Carolina United Methodist Church Conference dream in 2000, the Good Samaritan Clinic in the Barahona province is now fully functional and growing. It resides in a Batey initially serving an impoverished community of 1200 people situated in a rural area surrounded by sugar cane fields. The clinic now reaches over 10 surrounding communities with >4500 patient charts. The clinic functions year round with Dominican staffing through the Ministry of Public Health and Evangelical Church. Multiple American teams now return annually to work not only here but in surrounding bateyes and villages.

Dream Ministries aims to provide medical care to the people of the Dominican in order to allow them to live the lives for which they were made. It allows them to dream. This mission is rooted in the teachings and life of Jesus Christ who loved and served others. Our own dream is that this would continue to impact and transform the country through a sustainable project of love and hard work.
