Our team members come from many different locations, however most converge in Atlanta or Miami to fly into the Santo Domingo airport. Look for other team members prior to leaving the US to streamline the arrival process in the Dominican Republic. You will receive a list of participants prior to your departure. Upon arrival to the Santo Domingo airport you will depart the airplane and head to customs where you will purchase or present your Travelers Card and Passport. As you complete your travel documents in flight we recommend that you state the purpose of your trip as pleasure. You will then head through customs to baggage control where they will compare your luggage to your baggage claim check numbers that you receive at the airport when you check your luggage. Keep these available to make your arrival effortless. Clean bathrooms are available just after baggage claim if someone is with you to observe your luggage. Otherwise proceed out of the controlled area where you will see a crowd awaiting arrivals. You will be met by a team member at that time. If you are not met immediately, proceed down the walkway and wait at the airport entrance inside. You will have a bathroom opportunity prior to leaving the airport. After meeting up with the team you may grab a snack at the airport if there is time. There will be a meal at the hotel upon arrival. The sooner we leave the more time will be available for unpacking before starting a busy schedule on Saturday. The bus ride is approximately 4 hours with one bathroom stop. Try to have lunch before leaving the US or snacks available in case there is no time at the airport.
